Asbestos Survey

Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 (View here)

“...the Dutyholder shall ensure that a suitable and sufficient assessment is carried out as to whether asbestos is or is liable to be present in the premises.”

The Survey Report

  • An understandable, comprehensive and informative pictorial document detailing where any Asbestos materials are located, what type of product they are in, its condition and any recommendations regarding its management.
  • All our Surveyors hold the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) P402 (Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos) certificate as a minimum.
  • All surveys are carried out in accordance with Current Legislation and strictly to the Health and Safety Executive’s HSG264 The Survey Guide 2010.
  • All samples taken by our surveyors are analysed by independent UKAS accredited laboratories.

Asbestos SurveyTypes of Survey

  • Management Survey (Formally Type 2). A Management survey is the standard survey. Its purpose is to locate, as far as is reasonably practical, the presence and extent of any suspect ACMs in the building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including foreseeable maintenance and installation, and to assess their condition. The Management survey will form the basis of the management document to be used by the duty holder in the management of ACMs on a particular site, and should cover routine and simple maintenance work.
  • Refurbishment/Demolition Survey (Formally Type 3). A Refurbishment and Demolition Survey is needed before any refurbishment or demolition work is carried out. This type of survey is used to locate and describe, as far as is reasonably practical, all ACMs in the area where the Refurbishment work will take place or in the whole building if demolition is required.
